Donations
Pimeria Alta Academy, a nearly 100% online school, started in 2005 with left over equipment from a community technology center. Since then we have received ALL of our student desktops from donations. Very few of the original technology center PC's are still working, but there are 2 or 3 left.
Refurbished and used desktop computers have been provided over the last 6 years by: Customs and Border Protection, Jeffrey Gudenkauf, The White Elephant, Santa Cruz County W.I.A., Cochise College, and our most important donor AZStrut, which stands for Arizona Students Recycling Used Technology.
We received our first donation from AZStrut in 2005, with 15 desktops and monitors being donated. In 2009 and 2011 we received additional donations of about 18 desktop computers without monitors, as we had plenty of extras from previous systems.
real-world technology training to work for Arizona's students and educators. Their model program teaches students valuable technology skills; provides quality refurbished computers to schools and non-profits around the state; and benefits the environment by diverting old equipment from our landfills. It's a classic win-win-win situation which benefits everyone involved. Click here to find out more about their program, and check back often for more AZStrut news and photos.
Every time we receive a donation of a computer, we are able to replace an older much slower computer, directly affecting the classroom experience for our students. We can accept donations of computers in working or repairable condition, CPU/Tower ONLY-WITHOUT monitors, Pentium III or better. Receipts for your donations are available.
